About the Kia Ora Programme :

The Kia Ora programme is a FREE course that gives you the tools to manage your long term condition. It will give 

you information and knowledge and teach you how to manage you symptoms for a better quality of life. 

What is a long term condition :

A long term condition has a significant impact on people's lives. It cam be anything from asthma, cancer, weight problems, diabetes, COPD, respiratory, Cardiovascular disease, mental illness, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, kidney disease - anything that stops you from living a well, healthy and active life.

Discover for yourself :

* Action planning

* Health tips for eating well

* Medication usage

* Managing pain and fatigue

* Better breathing techniques 

* Introduction to physical activity

* Dealing with difficult emotions

* Making informed treatment decisions

* Working better with your Doctor & Nurse

* Learn how to use your mind to manage symptoms 

Courses :

The course is run over 7 weeks Meeting One day a week for 2.5 hours.

All the Courses are FREE to attend and you can bring a whanau member, carer or friend. 

Courses are run by two trained facilitators usually managing their own long term conditions.

There are three types of courses: general long term conditions, pain management & diabetes, all courses are run in Hastings & Napier.

LIVING LIFE WITH PAIN :

Hastings Tuesday the 6th August 10am - 12.30pm at the Hastings Salvation Army, 207 Warren street Hastings.

LIVING LIFE WITH DIABETES :

Hastings Tuesday the 13th August 6pm - 8.30pm Hastings Red Cross, 823 Heretaunga street W St Leonards 

Napier Wednesday the 14th  August 10am - 12.30pm, Turning point church, 30 Cranby Crescent, Onekawa 

LIVING LIFE WITH LONG TERM CONDITION'S :

Central HB : Thursday 15th August 10am - 12.30pm, Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga Cnr of Ruataniwha and Herbert street Waipukurau
