Our team is coming to Wairoa - This is an invitation to share your kōrero
KŌRERO MAI WHĀNAU
Nau mai Haere mai!
Wairoa Taiwhenua and Te Whare Maire o Tapuwae have invited Ngāti Kahungunu IwI and the KŌRERO MAI WHĀNAU to come to Wairoa on Wednesday 24 July 2019 and Tuesday 30 July 2019 to talk with individuals and/or whānau who would like to share their kōrero about their experience of the following:
· State intervention and how this has impacted yourself or your whānau
· State uplift/removal of pēpi and tamariki and how this has impacted yourself or your whānau
· The things that have impacted on your or your whānau’s health, wellbeing and safety
· If you were to help others by sharing your story, what would be your kōrero for other tamariki, rangatahi and whānau?
Whether you were a child, young person or a whānau who has been through state intervention, you are welcome toKŌRERO MAI WHĀNAU.
What will happen with your stories?
Your stories are valuable taonga and will be treated with dignity and respect. Your stories will be gathered, and the main findings will be put into a report and presented to Ngāti Kahungunu Iwi Inc. This is so that the we may understand through your important experiences, what is needed to make a difference. You will be kept up to date and will be invited to share the report back to Ngāti Kahungunu Iwi Inc.
Where will you be able to share your kōrero?
Should you choose to engage you will be invited to the Wairoa Waikaremoana Māori Trust Board Building at an arranged time with the panel to share your stories individually or with your whānau. There will be a quiet private space to kōrero. The mana, tikanga and whānau will embrace and uphold the kaupapa. We will welcome you with a mihi and introductions and there will be a cup of tea provided at the venue.
