Eastern District Firearm Collection - Making Aotearoa a safer place to live
He Panui ki te IwI -
Kia ora koutou katoa,
As a result of the tragic incident in Christchurch, and having a desire for a safer Aotearoa, there’s been some changes to the firearms law.
Some firearms that were once legal, are no longer allowed.
To help people, there’s information on the internet and there are also drop-off sites at different dates and times where people can hand-in those firearms that are no longer allowed.
At these drop off sites – there will be people there to discuss with you how you can be reimbursed for the firearms under the Government’s buy-back scheme. More detailed information can found on the Police internet site (link).
Attached to this email is also some helpful information.
